Cold Front

I for one am glad that the planning commission will not be meeting for awhile. Perhaps the city council takes a bit longer to make a decision, but at least they seem like they care. The planning commission generally seems to be very cold and take on a high and mighty attitude. When one needs to plead their case it helps to at least think the people listening care.
On top of that they are also notorious for whispering amongst themselves during meetings. The shared secrets and giggles, knowing nods of the head set my mind at unease. Personally, I don't think there's a need to whisper unless there's something to hide.

Char,
I would agree with you in the sense that the city council is much more friendly, but sometimes maybe being friendly isn't the way to get things done in Camelot. I think the planning commission realizes that we have a very diverse city and knows they must be a little stern to get things done. At least when the planning commission has a meeting we settle on things and move on to new items of business, compared to the city council where we have been stuck on the budget for sometime now. I do however agree that the whispering should stop and they should be more outspoken to the people of Camelot. This of course is just my personal opinion.

I also agree that the whispering that goes on during the planning commission meetings is rude to the citizens who are presenting their concerns. When this occurs, I do my best to discourage it but it is difficult to please everyone. Since the planning commission is smaller than the city council, the differences in personalities of the members is in much sharper contrast than the city council. Also, the planning commission members are realtively new to their positions and often are trying to make sure they are adhereing to the rules of Camelot. Please be assured, citizens, that you are being heard and we are trying to serve you the best we know how.
Thank you, Ms. Davis, for realizing that our desire to get things done in a timely fashion does not mean that we are not trying to be intentionally cold.
I personally think that the planning commission is doing a really good job by asking many questions to the solicitors. I think they are performing a very concrete job and when they encounter irregularities in a petition they ask what is unclear.
I would agree with the other comments above. Although the planning commission is sterner, they are also more effective than the council. They have been more productive; in only two meetings they have covered four issues. I feel like the one thing that the planning commission could do better is let more people talk and give opinions instead of limiting the number of people that talk. But I do understand why they do this; it keeps things getting done in a timely manner!
The planning commission has done an efficient job thus far. However, I do agree that at times they talk amongst themselves while other are pleading their case and so on. This kind of thing can be seen at disrespectful.

Even though I believe that the planning commission has done an efficient job on settling issues, I would have to agree that they do in fact seem cold towards us citizens. It seems that when a common citizen is voicing their concerns, that is the planning commission's cue to begin whispering amongst themselves and appear to be half listening if at all. I agree that whispering should not be necessary unless there is something to hide.
